I’m Lee, the General Manager of Bentley House. My favourite thing about working here is meeting so many different people. I have a genuine interest in people and their lives and it’s great to learn from them and be involved in it, no matter how large or small part I play. Now, a few fun facts about me…
What did you want to be when you grew up? Definitely an Ice Cream van man. Didn’t everyone?
How did your childhood prepare you for your job today? I was always playing out and lived in a Close with loads of children of different ages. It was like a microcosm of adult life – how to get along with people, interacting with different groups and how to handle situations, along with competing for the fastest runner in the Close too obviously!
Describe your first car and what you loved most about it. I’ve never owned a car! I’ve driven in many countries, but bizarrely never in the UK. The first car I drove was a 16 seater truck in the Caribbean and probably the thing I liked about it most is that it was so battered it didn’t really matter if I occasionally bumped into things. Which I quite frequently did!
Do you have any hidden talents? I can put the palm of my hand on the floor and rotate it 360 degrees. David Blaine does the same trick, it’s not magic, we’ve just got weird arms.
What’s the most unusual item in your desk drawer? Wasabi paste. Livens up any Tesco Meal Deal sandwich.
